About SPEM Health Center

If the health of the Filipino people is to be improved and if the staggering cost of health care is to be curved, we must look outside the current and established systems. And I am not advocating the use of synthetic vitamins, herbs or homeopathic remedies as the solution. Almost all physical problems are caused by putting into our bodies substances that they were never biologically designed to handle … substances that are actually toxic to the body. Just like our automobile, it will not run properly if the wrong fuel is placed in the gas tank, neither will our bodies function properly if the wrong foods are put into them.

Conventional and Alternative Medicines are the two main systems of healing in use today and utmost caution should be taken to choose wisely.

Being healthy is of crucial importance in the life of everyone. I do not believe that there is anyone who relishes the anguish of disease. Without good health one cannot function properly in any stage of life.

Whether enjoying the normal faculties of life or mentally unbalanced, every person wants rather be perfectly healthy than endure the tortures of pain, sickness and disease, but invariably there comes a time when we must seek medical attention.

It is unfortunate that instead of healing the sick, very often than not, some synthetic medicines contradict with the natural process of healing resulting to additional suffering and further deterioration of health of a patient.

In ancient times, illnesses were cured by the use of herbs and other natural therapies that have been proven very effective. Today, the same therapies as well as modern discoveries based on the ancient times are referred to as “alternative medicines already” and the public has been brainwashed into believing that the treatments are worthless. Yet, many diseases that have been diagnosed 'incurable' are healed through alternative means. Unfortunately, these results are just taken for granted for some reasons or another.

Conventional medicine (also referred to as mainstream, standard, allopathic or orthodox medicine), is man-made synthetic drugs that were not in existence in ancient times. It is purposely manufactured to cure present diseases diagnosed by medical practitioners.

The main difference between the conventional and alternative medicine is that alternative medicine is concerned about the prevention of disease and pays attention to and deals with the cause by treating the body as a whole. It focuses on preventing disease before it starts. It views the presence of disease as an imbalance of the Spiritual, Physical, Emotional and Mental state of a person and endeavors to support and strengthen the immune system through natural means.

Alternative medicine contends that the body is naturally able to heal itself and remain stable - known in medicine as homeostasis.

On the other hand, conventional medicine is not concerned with preventing disease but rather to cure an already established ailment. It is more interested in treating just the symptoms of disease through modern and/or scientific techniques and technology instead of treating the whole person.

Many conventional drugs are said to have the potential to damage the liver and kidneys. It can also cause mental depression, heart failure, cancer and other adverse side effects. Now, if that is so, why are they still being manufactured and sold to the public? Where is the concern for public health and safety?

If conventional medicines are the answer to health problems, why there are so many common diseases today? The interesting thing is that a name is readily given to each new disease and some form of synthetic remedy is quickly manufactured for sale?

Conventional medicines usually benefit from the advertisement that the public is easily convinced that it is the only way they can get relief from devastating illnesses. They bite the propaganda of any new super healing conventional medicine and with no hesitation to use it to treat them. This is especially so in the case of weight loss/gain.

It is well known that some drug manufacturers had to withdraw their synthetic medicines out in the market because of some side effects to the patients. The general public is not sufficiently made aware of the dangers of conventional drugs. Patients are dependent on the medical practitioners, which oftentimes are not available in the countryside.

Obviously, if diseases are prevented by natural means before breaking down the immune system of the body, serious diseases such as cancer and other so-called “incurable diseases” can be prevented. As the saying goes, “prevention is better than cure”.

Everyone must find time to learn about the natural substances that they can take to protect their own bodies and prevent diseases. Thousands of persons might have been alive today if only they knew and had been motivated to use natural health remedies.

Although many people seem not convinced that natural medicines do not have the outright effect of that of the synthetic medicines, little by little natural healing and/or alternative medicines are now recognized not only by the private sector but the government sector.

We must not forget the divine philosophy of health and healing. That HEALTH begins with FAITH. Faith in God, without whom, we can achieve nothing; Faith in His PRINCIPLES and LAWS of health and healing; Faith in his HERBAL MEDICINES and NATURAL DOCTORS; and faith in our BODY’S POWER of SELF-HEALING.

God who made this world has said "the leaves of the trees for healing of the nations." God is truth and cannot lie. Isn't it time that we believe HIS word?
